NEW NOZZLES ARRIVE
Fri. Jan 24th 2020

36 NEW AKRON NOZZLES HAVE ARRIVED.  THE NEW NOZZLES WILL GET ALL PUMPERS AND THE QUINT SET WITH THE SAME NOZZLES.  THE NOZZLES WERE PURCHASED WITH THE FEMA GRANT.  TOTAL COST FOR THE 36 NOZZLES AND 2 NEW MERCURY NOZZLES WAS $28,000.  WE WENT WITH THE AKRON BRAND BASED ON THE RESEARCH OF STATION 44.  THE OFFICERS OF PHHC MET WITH THE OFFICERS AT STATION 44 WHO DID THE FLOW TEST TO LOOK AT THEIR DATA.  WE NOW HAVE ALL HAND LINE NOZZLES BOTH 13/4" AND 21/2" EQUIPPED WITH 50 PSI NOZZLES. A MIXTURE OF SMOOTH BORE AND FOG NOZZLES WERE PURCHASED. ALL FOR NOZZLES ARE SET UP THAT THE FOG TIP CAN BE REMOVED TO GO TO A SMOOTH BORE NOZZLE.  THE SMOOTH BORES CAN BE CONVERTED TO A FOG TIP IF NECESSARY.

THANKS TO THE STATION 44 OFFICERS FOR THE INFO ON YOUR FLOW TESTING.  THANKS TO THE FEMA GRANT REVIEWERS FOR THIS GRANT.  THE PLAN IS TO HAVE THESE NEW NOZZLES ON THE TRUCKS AND IN SERVICE LATER THIS WEEKEND.
