CREWS TOOK A BREAK FROM TRAINING LAST NIGHT AND HAD THE ANNUAL FAMILY PICNIC. TONIGHT WAS A NIGHT FOR THE MEMBERS ( BOTH PAID AND VOLUNTEER) AND THEIR FAMILIES TO GATHER AT THE STATION FOR A NIGHT OF FUN AND RELAXATION.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY SEVERAL MEMBERS TESTED TO RECEIVE THEIR PROBOARD CERTIFICATIONS FOR DRIVER OPERATOR STATUS OF WATER TENDER, PUMPER AND AERIAL. THE TEST WAS BOTH A WRITTEN TEST OF KNOWLEDGE AND A PRACTICAL SKILLS TEST.1.
CREWS THIS AM RESPONDED TO A LOCAL HOTEL FOR A CALL FOR A FALL VICTIM. AMBULANCE CREW ARRIVED QUICKLY AND FOUND THE PT. WAS IN CARDIAC ARREST. CPR WAS STARTED AND A CALL OUT FOR ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL WAS MADE.

JIM MANROSS HAS BEEN HIRED TO FILL THE POSITION LEFT OPEN WHEN TODD SPINELLI WAS MOVED TO THE SUPERVISORY POSITION. JIM WILL BE THE C PLATOON MEDIC STARTING ON JULY 19 AS HE HAD TO PROVIDE HIS CURRENT EMPLOYER, EMERGICARE, WITH 2 WEEKS NOTICE.
MEMBERS EVAN KARDOSH AND JOHN SPAULDING HAVE BOTH RECEIVED THEIR PRO BOARD CERTIFICATION FOR FIRE OFFICER 1. THE TESTING WAS BOTH WRITTEN TEST AND PRACTICAL SKILLS. CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE MEMBERS FOR ACHIEVING THIS ACCOMPLISHMENT.
FOR THE SECOND TIME THE PARAMEDIC MANAGER HAS RESIGNED TO PURSUE OTHER PARAMEDIC INTERESTS. ERIC DANIELSON HAS MOVED TO MPS TO BE A SWAT MEDIC LEAVING THE MANAGER POSITION OPEN. ERIC WILL STAY ON AS A FILL IN PARAMEDIC.

MEMBERS TO THE LAKE CITY PARADE TODAY WITH T-439, R-428 AND L-429. THE PARADE WAS MUCH SHORTER THAT YEARS AGO. THE 20 MINUET LONG PARADE WAS MOSTLY FIRE APPARATUS. AFTER THE PARADE CREW MEMBERS STOPPED INTO THE LAKE CITY SAUSAGE STAND FOR SOME EXCELLENT SAUSAGE SANDWICHES.

PERRY HI-WAY WAS THE RECIPIENT OF AN HONORABLE MENTION AWARD FOR QUALITY IMPROVEMENT FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE FOR ANSWERING 95% OF OUR AMBULANCE CALLS IN 2016. WITH THE ADDITION OF THE PAID STAFF THIS ALLOWED US TO ANSWER MOST OF OUR CALLS FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE.

AS WE APPROACH OUR 1ST COMPLETE YEAR AS A COMBINATION DEPARTMENT THE BOARD APPROVED A 3 % RAISE FOR ALL THE FULL TIME EMPLOYEES. THIS IS IN LINE WITH WHAT OTHER AREA EMERGENCY WORKERS SEE AS RAISES EACH YEAR.
