THE 2 MEMBERS THAT ATTENDED THE BUCKS FIRE 1 PROGRAM HOSTED BY THE BELLE VALLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT, PETE BOHRER AND CHRIS PACE HAVE PASSED THEIR FIREFIGHTER 1 CERTIFICATION TEST. THESE MEMBERS PASSED BOTH THE SKILLS OR PRACTICAL PORTION AND THE WRITTEN TEST FOR FIREFIGHTER 1 CERTIFICATION.
THE RESULTS ARE IN AND ALL 7 MEMBERS WHO TOOK THE TRENCH 1 PRO BOARD CERTIFICATION TEST HAVE PASSED BOTH THE WRITTEN AND THE PRACTICAL TESTING THAT WAS HELD ON AUGUST 2 & 3. THIS WILL ADD TO THE CERTIFICATIONS HELD BY THE MEMBERSHIP.
MEMBERS ATTENDED THE OPEN HOUSE HELD BY MCKEAN HOSE COMPANY TODAY. U-438 WITH FREDDIE AS WELL AS THE NEW S-437 ATTENDED THE EVENT TODAY. MCKEAN WAS CELEBRATING THE ARRIVAL OF THEIR NEW E-ONE PUMPER TRUCK.

THE 2 NEW HORTON AMBULANCES ARRIVED TODAY FOR DELIVERY. THE TRUCKS WILL NOW BE FINISHED WITH A COUPLE OF EQUIPMENT BRACKETS INSTALLED FROM THE OLD UNITS. THE EMMCO WEST INSPECTOR WILL BE HERE ON TUESDAY 8-20 TO MAKE SURE THEY MEET ALL THE SPECIFICATIONS AND THEY WILL BE PUT IN SERVICE.

EMERGENCY RESPONDERS FROM AS FAR AWAY AS STATE COLLEGE'S ALPHA FIRE COMPANY WERE AT STATION 42 THIS AM TO TAKE THE WRITTEN AND PRACTICAL TEST FOR HAZ-MAT OPERATIONS LEVEL. THE OPERATIONS LEVEL IS A MID LEVEL CERTIFICATION THAT DEALS WITH SPILL IDENTIFICATION AND CONTROL / DIVERSION.

CREWS TOOK THE NIGHT OFF OF TRAINING FOR A WELL DESERVED NIGHT OF FUN AND RELAXATION. RATHER THAN TRAINING MONDAY NIGHT THE COMPANY GOT TOGETHER AT STATION 43 FOR A FAMILY PICNIC. FOOD WAS PROVIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT FROM TERESA'S DELI AND SAM'S CLUB.
A TOTAL OF 14 EMERGENCY PERSONNEL TOOK PART IN THE PRO BOARD TESTING FOR THE TRENCH 1 LEVEL. THIS TESTING INCLUDED A WRITTEN 50 QUESTION TEST ON FRIDAY NIGHT FOLLOWED BY A PRACTICAL TEST ON SATURDAY. CREWS HAD TO REMOVE A SIMULATED VICTIM FROM A TRENCH 20 FT LONG X 7 FT DEEP.
3 MEMBERS WENT TO THE HORTON PLANT THIS AM TO INSPECT AND PICK UP THE 2 NEW AMBULANCES. THE UNITS WERE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER SITE, KOLAJA'S, WHERE SEVERAL ITEMS WILL BE MOUNTED INCLUDING NEW RADIOS FOR BOTH LOW AND UHF BANDS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO 2 MEMBERS ON THEIR RECENT CERTIFICATIONS. JOSH SADOWY HAS PASSED HIS CORE RESCUE CERTIFICATION AS WELL AS HIS PRO-BOARD FOR VEHICLE & MACHINERY 1. CHRIS PACE HAS PASSED HIS HAZ-MAT AWARNESS AND OPERATIONS LEVEL PRO-BOARD TESTS.
WHILE WE ARE NOT EXACTLY SURE WHEN OUR ISO ( INSURANCE SERVICE OFFICE) RATING IMPROVED BY 1 POINT TO LEVEL 4 FOR OUR HYDRATED AREAS, WE DID RECEIVE A MAILER FROM THE ISO INDICATING OUR CLASSIFICATION IS A 4/9 SPLIT.

DUE TO THE ORIGINAL FIREFIGHTER 2 TESTING DATE BEING ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND BUCKS WAS NOT ABLE TO GET ENOUGH EVALUATORS TO RUN THOSE DATES. THE TESTING HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND SEPTEMBER 6TH & 7TH.
THE SERVICE TECH FROM BREATHING AIR SYSTEMS STOPPED IN TO STATION 43 THIS AFTERNOON TO PERFORM ROUTINE SERVICE AND AIR TESTING ON OUR BREATHING AIR COMPRESSOR. THE OIL IS CHANGED ON THE COMPRESSOR PUMP AND THE FILTER CARTRIDGES ARE CHANGED OUT AT THIS VISIT ( THEY ARE CHANGE OUT 1 X A YEAR OR AFTER ...
