A FULL FIRST ALARM ASSIGNMENT WAS DISPATCHED.  L-429, E-432, E-423 RESPONDED FROM STATION 42 WITH L-449 FROM KFD, E-405 FROM MCKEAN AND RIT E-483 FROM WEST LAKE ALL RESPONDED.  CREWS WERE FLAGGED DOWN OUT FRONT BY TARGET STAFF ON ARRIVAL OF L-429 AND E-432.  THESE 2 UNITS POSITIONED ON SIDE A.  E-405 WAS ASSIGNED THE SPRINKLER CONNECTION ON SIDE C AND L-449 WAS SET ON THE C-D CORNER AND WAS ASSIGNED TO THE ROOF TO CHECK THE HVAC UNITS.  RIT WAS STAGED IN THE LOT ON SIDE A WITH THE CREW TO THE FRONT DOOR WHERE ACCESS WAS OBTAINED. AFTER AN EXTENSIVE SEARCH OF THE BUILDING NO FIRE WAS FOUND AND IT WAS THOUGHT TO BA A BURNED OUT BALLAST AS THE CAUSE OF THE SMOKE AND ELECTRICAL FIRE SMELL.UTILIZINF 3 THERMAL IMAGERS THE AREA WAS CHECKED WITH NO INDICATION OF A BAD BALLAST.  THE ELECTRONIC AREA HAD SOME HOT SPOTS WHERE TV'S WERE PLUGGED IN. ALL THE TV'S IN THE ELECTRONIC DEPARTMENT WERE UNPLUGGED. THERE WAS NO MORE SMOKE AND THE SMELLS HAD DISSIPATED. NO HOT SPOTS ON THE TIC's AND ALL COMPANIES WERE RETURNING AFTER 90 MINS.  THE CAUSE MAY HAVE BEEN FROM A POWER SURGE AS THE STORE WAS ON GENERATOR POWER AS THE AREA WAS UNDER A POWER OUTAGE WHEN WE ARRIVED ON SCENE AND POWER WAS RESTORED WHILE WE WERE ON SCENE.
