KITCHEN FIRE ON THE TWP LINE

CREWS WERE CALLED OUT FOR A KITCHEN FIRE ON OLD HERSHEY ROAD. A FIRST ALARM ASSIGNMENT WAS DISPATCHED BY THE 911 CENTER. KEARSARGE L-449 RESPONDED AND WAS FIRST DUE TO FIND SMOKE SHOWING FROM THE RESIDENCE. THE CREW ON L-449 DEPLOYED A 13/4" HAND LINE AND MADE AN INTERIOR ATTACK. E-432, U-438 AND S-437 ALSO RESPONDED AND SUPPORTED L-449 ON THE ATTACK. MCKEAN E-405 RESPONDED WITH MANPOWER AND THE RIT WAS FILLED WITH E-483.

FIRE WAS LOCATED IN THE KITCHEN OF THE HOME AND THE AGGRESSIVE INTERIOR ATTACK WAS ABLE TO HOLD THE FIRE IN THE KITCHEN BUT THERE WAS EXTENSIVE SMOKE DAMAGE THRU THE HOME.  THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY COOKING ON THE STOVE THAT WAS UNATTENDED AND SPREAD INTO THE CABINETS ABOVE THE STOVE.  THE FIRE WAS HANDLED WITH THE 500 GALLONS OF WATER ON L-449 BOOSTER TANK.  THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND THE SMOKE ALARMS WERE PRESENT AND WORKING TO ALERT THE RESIDENTS TO THE PROBLEM AND ALLOWED THEM TO VACATE THE BUILDING.  AFTER THE FIRE WAS OUT THE HOME WAS DETERMINED TO BE IN MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP WITH THE TWP LINE RUNNING THROUGH THE FRONT YARD OF THE HOME
