WORKING HOUSE FIRE WITH STATION 44

CREWS WERE CALLED OUT AT 5AM TODAY TO A REPORTED STRUCTURE FIRE ON ZUCK ROAD IN THE WESTERN PORTION OF STATION 44 FIRST DUE. OUR PART OF THE BOX WAS FOR 1 ENGINE TO RESPOND.  E-423 RESPONDED AND ARRIVED 4TH DUE BEHIND L-449, T-479 AND E-474. THE CREW FROM E-423 ASSISTED WITH LADDERING THE BUILDING AND SET UP FOR POSITIVE PRESSURE VENTILATION. THEY ALSO ASSISTED IN STRETCHING A 3RD HAND LINE TO HIT SOME SPOTS OF FIRE.  L-449 WAS FIRST ON THE SCENE AND DEPLOYED 2 HAND LINES WITH L-479 ARRIVING RIGHT AFTER. THESE 2 CREWS HANDLED THE BULK OF THE INTERIOR WORK AND MADE A GOOD HIT ON THE FIRE. E-474 FORWARD LAY TO PROVIDE A WATER SUPPLY TO BOTH QUINTS.

THE RESIDENTS WERE ALERTED TO THE FIRE BY PASSER BY AND WERE ABLE TO EVACUATE THE HOME.  WEST LAKE AND MPS HANDLED THE RIT WITH BELLE VALLEY E-364 PROVIDING PERSONNEL TO ASSIST WITH LADDERING, VENTILATION AND STRETCHING THE 3RD HAND LINE.  CREWS OPERATED ON SCENE FOR 2 HOURS.  THE FIRE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
